Why are random numbers added to my component?

Why are random numbers added to my component? was created by Matthew

So I went to add a menu item linked to my component and I noticed the options to pick from had some (random?) numbers in them. Why would that be?
Actually those numbers are embeded in the generated code?

I believe It has something to do with when you added foreign key fields.

I don't know if they have any real purpose, I also deleted those md5-hash numbers from the queries in my component to improve the code readability.
