Ending support for Joomla 2.5 components

From December 13th 2016 we will no longer support the creation of joomla 2.5 components. We are also stopping the addition of new features to the 2.5 branch of Component Creator effective immediately.

The reasons are the following:

 

• Joomla 2.5 official support hit its end-of-life on december 31, 2014, almost a year and a half ago
• In Joomla 3, code standards are changing, new features and fields are added and there’s even changes to the component structure. Maintaining the ability to build the same components for 3.x and 2.5 it’s becoming increasing difficult for a non supported version.
• We want to focus on creating components for Joomla 4 when it is released.

There is plenty of time to build those 2.5 components that you want to keep, however we recommend you update your site and components to the lastest Joomla 3 version as soon as possible.
